LEAD ME

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAKBXBXz1fo&ob=av2e - LEAD ME

God, my prayer now, is to allow you to lead me. Lead us. Give us the strength to let go of our desires and let you be the leader of our lives. There are days that I am surrounded by people, wonderful people, but I still feel alone. But I should remember that you are always there with me, even with I feel so alone.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZVjKrmvYYQ&NR=1 - Forgiven

God, I am SO blessed and thankful that I am able to be forgiven for all my wrongs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J95rAr0gOFU - By your side

God, I am so thankful you are by my side, because I couldn't do it without you. I know sometimes I hold you at arms length, but God, I am so thankful that you love and care about me, and I want to let you wrap your loving arms around me, heal me, be there for me, and to rest in your presence. To forget the weight of the world and be at peace with you.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaHmiFaX_pk&feature=related - Motions

God, I don't want to just go through the motions of the day, letting days, weeks, months pass me by, forgetting my purpose. I want to be on fire for you, every moment of every day. NO REGRETS!

Hello again! And Happy Mother's Day! It is good to be home and have a little time to relax. My mom is already cracking the whip on the wedding planning though. Not a second to waste. Anyway I headed home Tuesday morning and just bummed around Tuesday and slept in Wednesday. I spend a few hours Wed and Thurs making bread. It's much more fun than sitting around doing nothing. Anyway, so Monday before I left I decided to go by and see about the clinic receptionist job in the speech clinic in the Reynolds for next year, since I was supposed to have heard already. The teacher said that she still needed to meet with the other teachers, but would let me know by Tuesday morning at the latest. So, as you can imagine, by Thursday I had pretty much decided that they had picked someone else. But my Dad (who came home from Orlando Thurs) said that I should drop her one more email saying "Thanks for considering me" etc etc. So I did, and Friday morning I had a email from her. I expected it to say something like "Thanks for applying, BUT" but instead it said "Thanks for applying AND...we are offering the position to YOU!" I didn't know what to do, so I just started running around in circles in the den, jumping up and down. I think that was followed by phone calls and singing. Anyway, so that was excitement #1 of Friday.

A little later on I decided to call and find out the status of my wedding dress. They said "Well, your dress should be in about....right now." She said they had just received a shipment that morning so she went and opened the boxes and my dress was there!!! So...tomorrow morning I am going in for my official fitting! So excited! I get to dance around in my wedding dress again. I mean, hey, you don't get to wear it very much, so I gotta enjoy the time I do get to spend wearing it. Tomorrow one of my bridesmaids is coming with me so we can see what bridesmaids dresses look good next to my wedding dress. So that was excitement #2 of Friday.

Friday night my family went out for Japanese food and my Mom and I shared a vento box (Hope I spelled it right). Anyway, it was so cute and totally made me think of the Iron Chef. I even tried sushi! Saturday night I got to hang out with my friends Katie and Jill. It was fun fun fun! Katie got me the cutest wallet! While there aren't very many people left in Houston that I talk to, the few I do are very special to me and are wonderful friends! Church was good this morning and my brother even sat with the family for Mother's Day. Anyway, so far so good. Looking forward to reading about how everyone else's summer is treating them so far.

Love you all! Have a wonderfully God-blessed day!

List five odd, random, strange FACTS about you. Then tag 5 other people.

1. We used to have a turtle until we left it outside in a box too long and it became fried turtle.
2. I always thought only old people got married, but now I'm getting married next December and shoot! I don't feel old at all.
3. I used to think Steak n' Shake meant you put a steak in a bad and added your own spices, and...SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE!
4. I'm just dying to live somewhere where it snows, yet every time I'm in the snow and ice, I inevitably slip and fall on my butt, feet straight up in the air and all (I think I'd end up dying from falling so many times).
5. I'm white, I try to dance, but I have no rhythm. Wait, thats not random, that's just fact. =)

Okay, well, I'm really bad about thinking about those kinds of things on the spot, but I hope you enjoy. I tag: Josh, Jess T, Alana, Michelle H, Shannon

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone! God bless you all!

Josh dipped me and kissed me after I said "YES!" to marrying him!

Look! There's snow on the ground! We went inside the pretty lit up house and Josh popped the question!

Oh my! What is inside the pretty rose box?! A ring a ring!!!

Me and my wonderful fiance! Yay!!

Well, just thought I'd post a few pics! Hope finals are going well for everyone!

Hey! Wow! It's been a long time since I've updated on here! This has definitely been an insane semester. There have been so many ups and downs, but overall God has definitely blessed my semester with an amazing boyfriend and amazing girls to live with. Right now I am home with my family for Thanksgiving and am having a wonderful time! I'm spending most of my time hanging around the house. My brother says that's pretty boring, but I admit that it's a nice change for the week from busy really really busy all the time. It's nice to just relax a bit. But tonight my brother and I had a brother/sister night and we went to eat at California Pizza Kitchen and then to Starbucks. He's a pretty good boy. Anyway, I'm excited for Thanksgiving, but definitely enjoying every moment I have here. I love and miss you all! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!

Wow! Well, it's definitely been a while since I've let you guys know what's going on in my life. It's so exciting, you see, I have classes, classes, and studying, and I see people occasionally. haha. Actually, I am loving all of my classes this semester, and all of my teachers are awesome! They aren't too terribly difficult so far, but of course I wouldn't argue if they were easier. =)

Anyway, one weekend Josh took me to Branson, Missouri, to Silver Dollar City for the day, as a late birthday present, and it was awesome! I had an amazing time, and it was sooo thoughtful of him! Josh is such an amazing and thoughtful guy and I am so happy to have him in my life!

Probably my #2 highlight of the semester would be this past wednesday when we had the HUG reunion at the Neller's. It was so wonderful to see almost everyone again! WE all brought our scrapbooks and shared them, and ate, and had a wonderful time! The room was definitely much louder than it was on Wednesday nights BEFORE we went to Greece! Spending a semester with 40 other amazing people in Greece was an amazing experience that I will cherish my whole life.

So those are probably my big highlights so far. The Bison football game was awesome last night! That's the first one I've been to in a long time and I'm really glad I went.

Well, I guess on a sadder note (I wanted to think about all the happy things first), I'll make this entry in memory of my first puppy ever, Meesha Bradshaw, who I had since I was 6, died today, 9/18/05. I will miss her lots.

So the past few days have been pretty crazy. Monday I drove to Little Rock and stayed the night with my aunt and uncle. Tuesday Mom helped me move into my dorm room and get a bit settled. We had Student Impacxt dinner which was nuts and I don't know how we know what to do for Impact, but somewhere between all the noise we got the message. =) Anyway, Mom, Josh and I went on a large Walmart run and after that Josh and I took my mommy back to the little rock airport. It was sad to see her go, but this semester I can call her anytime I want to without having to pay a bunch of money, like in Greece.

Wednesday Josh and I went to breakfast and ran some errands. Then we ran into Osaro and Shannon and sat and talked for a while. After that Shannon and I helped each other organize our rooms and then we made stir fry for dinner, and chocolate chip cookies to follow. It was lots of fun. We (Shannon and I) had Bible reading time and prayer time with the boys (Osaro and Josh). We met up with Chris and Jessie after that to plan for energy group, but not much luck there. haha. Then it was time to go to the room.

Today Jessie and I made the coolest energy group #26 poster for tomorrow! Then Josh and Chris met up with us and we went to Arby's for lunch to plan stuff. Worked registration after that and then made a walmart run to get stuff for ice cream sundaes. Yes, energy group # 26 will be great! Got more stuff from my uncles car and Josh helped me move it in. Now I'm typing this xanga entry. Sounds like a wonderfully fun filled few days I've had huh? =) Aren't you glad I didn't mention all the other errands I ran in between all that other stuff? =) Anyway, I'm just gonna hang out for a while, maybe nap or something and then head to Midnight Oil later. How I have missed Mr.Blonde shakes.....thats all for now!

Hey! Well, today I got new glasses! I can see now! Anyway, on Tuesday Josh came to see me!! It was so exciting to see him after so long! On tuesday we hung out, went swimming and had a cookout with the family. On Wednesday we went to Dave and Busters, and had a picnic lunch by the Waterwall, and went to IKEA, then to church and home for dinner. Thursday morning Josh left. It was sad, but I know I will see him again in a few days, which is very exciting!

But anyway, this summer, though it has had many ups and downs, has been very good for me. I feel that I have learned a lot about myself, and have gotten to know a few feel who have helped me through my growth this summer. I truly believe that surrounding yourself with people who have a strong passion for God can do nothing but help you grow in your spiritual walk as well. Shannon, I know I mentioned this on my last past, but I am so glad that through those "2 crazy boys we love" we have become good friends this summer. You are such an encouragement to me, and I love your passion for learning more about our Lord, and I am looking forward to getting to know you better this semester. Jess, I'm so excited to live with you this year! You are such a wonderful person and I hope that I can be there for you as much as you were for me in Greece last spring. Josh, you know I love you! =) Anyway, to all of my friends, even if I don't tell you enough, I love you so much!

Well, thats all for now. On Saturday and Sunday I get to dedicate my life to packing...because Katie is a procrastinator. haha. Anyway, have a great day all! God bless,
Katie

Well it's been a week so I figured it was about time for me to add a new post. First of all I have to say that I love tax free weekend! Tax free weekend is to me as a college student what halloween was as a kiddo. If you don't know what tax free weekend is, well, just think logically, all clothes and anything related to school is....tax free! Which means everything costs what is says on the tag! Plus, all the stores are usually having major sales on top of it. It was a wonderful day.

Anyway, this week I havent done a whole lot...nothing too exciting. Last Saturday Jill and I went and saw Shakespeares "As you like it" at the outdoor theater which was lots of fun. Yesterday shannon called me because she was on my side of town, and so we spent the afternoon hanging out. I felt really bad because first she traipsed with me to the eye doctor...but then we had dinner and hung out at starbucks for a while. Shannon is a wonderful person. I'm so glad we've become friends since our boyfriends are also roomates and good friends.

Anyway, besides that I'm pretty much just getting ready for school. Though since I love to do things under pressure I haven't done much for "getting stuff together" for school yet. Josh is coming on tuesday! My mom bought enough food for an army. =) Well, thats all for now. I'm worn out from shopping, so maybe I'll go take a nap!

Love ya and God bless!

Well, my class is done and I have actually had a week of relaxation! It has been absolutely wonderful! I have spent most of my week reading and cleaning and spending time with my family. Yesterday was my mom's birthday! Happy birthday mom! Then yesterday afternoon I went to Emily D.'s house in Livingston. We hung out last night and fell asleep to Season 8 episodes of friends. This morning we got up and rode their jet skiis, then went tubing. It was lots of fun. It was fun getting to hang out with Emily, and just get out of the big city for a little while.
On another note, I get to see Josh really soon! And then we go back to Harding! I'm so excited!
Well, I'm pretty exhausted so on that note, I'm heading out. Hope you all have been enjoying my pictures!

Just hangin out

You can't see me, but I'm back there. good times, good times. =)

Hey guys! Thanks for the memories! Well, today I finished the rough draft of my research paper. Tomorrow I plan to finish editing it and everything, and then I will be done with my independent study class! SO exciting! Of courge, I have a whole month off until we start all over again. Definitely determined to have no summer school next summer.
Anyway, not too much else going on. Went to the Cheesecake Factory with Jill F and Anjuli last night. We had a good time! Josh comes home from camp today! Our church youth group left for Colorado today for Trek and I really wish I could have gone. Maybe another year.
I found an old journal last night and read through and saw how much joy I dad in reading the BIble at that time. Right now my prayer is that I can find that joy again. I read the Bible because I know it is what I should do, but half the time I can't remember what I've read. Please pray for me and for the joy and strength I can find in reading the Bible and learning more about God's word.
I hope you are all having a wonderful summer! God bless you all.

Happy July 4th one day late! I spent my 4th of July with some of my Dad's side of the family in Richmond, Virginia. Today we are back in Norfolk, VA. Travel has been lots of fun, and I have absolutely loved seeing family, but I also don't get anything done while I'm away.

So a few weeks ago I left Houston to go see Josh for a few days and we had a wonderful time! After that we drove up to Washington D.C. and then have been travelling all over VA for the past week seeing family. On Sunday we went to the church my parents went to a loooong time ago and it turned out that there were 3 people who currently attend Harding in the class. That was really neat! We went fishing in Virginia Beach, but no fish were biting. So sad.

Anyway, that's been my trip in a nutshell. I really miss everyone from Harding and I have loved talking to those of you I have talked to so far this summer. Can't wait to see you all in the fall! Love ya! God bless,

KT

I miss everyone from HUG and Harding so much!! I can't wait to see you all in the fall! Anyway, I have been loving teaching the little rascals (3-6 yr olds) gymnastics. Last week we had absolute angels....this week is another story. I'm glad that once I'm out in the real world I'll be working with children in small doses. 25 little ones at a time by myself and I would probably go nuts. Well, I leave to head up to see Josh in a few days!!! Very excited! I'm looking forward to seeing what all he has been up to this summer, and meeting the people he has been hanging out with. After that we're headed up to Virginia for a few weeks. So thats my update for now! Oh yeah, and I finished my HUG scrapbook! 46 pages! So glad its done! Anyway, love you all and God bless,
Katie

Thursday, May 26, 2005

So...I get to go see Josh this summer! 3 weeks from tomorrow! I'm so excited! Anyway, in the meantime I'm keeping pretty busy. Taking Phonetics independent study, doing the scrapbook for Dr.Neller, and have been going in to observe gymnastics classes since I start working in about a week and a half. Anyway, gotta get busy! I miss all you HUGgers! Have a great day all! Love ya and God bless you!

Hey! Well, I've finally gotten around to writing about free travel! No one to tell us what to do, when to do it, when to eat, when to use the restroom...(Baha!), etc. Anyway, the first day we planned to catch the 6:15am bus...which never came! So 21 people crammed into 2 cars and...we made the trains and the ferry! We were too cheap to get flight seats on the ferry, so we just got deck seats. Around 2:30am Josh and Michelle woke me up because they were freezing, and we ended up sleeping at the bottom of a staircase. Around 10am most of us who were on the ferry got together for a devo and communion. After we got off the ferry we had 10 minutes to make our next train to Rome...but the train station ended up being at least a mile away...and we all had our backpacks, so we didnt make it. But we made the 2pm train to Rome and once we got there we headed to our very first hostel ever.
4/18/05
Well, we made it through our first night in a hostel. Thank goodness we weren't there for Pub crawl night. Rome is beautiful! It was totally crazy because of the whole pope election thing, so we couldn't get in to almost anything because there were so many people in Rome. The Sistene Chapel was closed. But we did get to see the Colosseum, Arch of Titus, Arch of Constantine, the Roman Forum, St.Peter's, the Vatican Museum, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, and many other beautiful places in Rome. I hope to be able to go back to Rome someday! It was a wonderful city!

Okay, so a quick runthrough of the rest of my trip. After that we went to Florence which was a beautiful city! The Duomo was amazing! Then we went to Pisa, and all took our pictures pretending to hold it up. We went back through Florence on our way to Venice. So our hotel was way outside the city so we didnt go in that night. The next day we went into the city. When we got there we got out our map, and said "Forget it!" Ther was no way that map was going to help us in this crazy layed out city. But...somehow we got where we needed to go. And I fed the pigeons in St.Mark's (I think) square. That was definitely crazy! We did a little shopping and Josh, as a surprise, bought me a beautiful bracelet there. He is so thoughtful!

So after Venice we left Italy! We stopped in Innsbruck, Austria for an afternoon. That is an absolutely beautiful city! It is such a quaint little city, felt safe, and surrounded by snow-capped mountains. There wasn't a ton to do, but it was definitely beautiful! Then we headed to Munich. We walked all around the city and through the Olde Town. We had an interesting experience in Munich that night. But anyway, the next day we went to Neuschwanstein. Kind Ludwig's Disneyland castle!!! We got to go on a tour of he inside and it was awesome! Then we walked around the city for a little while, which was also very cute.

After that we took a night train to Paris. We were there for a couple of days. We went to the Louvre for many many hours. We walked down the street (can't spell it, haha) from the Louvre to the Arc de Triomph. We also went to the Notre Dame cathedral and had dinner in a little cafe next to it. We went to the Picasso Museum and took a last loooooooong stroll all around Paris before heading to Barcelona. Favorite bakery item in Paris: definitely the strawberry tart!

The first afternoon in Barcelona we walked around the city for hours, and then stopped back by the hostel before dinner. We also found out that the strike for our plane flight had been called off!!! That was wonderful news! So, we had dinner at a little cafe in Barcelona. I tried to be adventurous (not knowing what I was ordering) and...it was interesting. Not bad, just dfifferent. So that night we watched a movie at the hostel and went to bed. The next day we went to the La Sagrada Familia and then....to the beach!!! (where I got totally roasted).

Our flight to London from Barcelona didn't end up leaving until almost midnight, and got to London around 1. Didn't get much sleep that night. So we went into London and carried our bags around for about 7 hours that day, and saw Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Millenium Bridge, and many many other wonderful sites of London. Then we found our way to the hostel. After that night we went and had dinner at a pub. I had fish and chips and Josh had chili and rice! The next day we went to the British Museum for a long time, and then to Hard Rock Cafe (the original!) The next day....came back to the states!

So that's free travel in a nut shell. =)

Sunday, May 01, 2005

Hey everyone! Well, sorry this xanga has been so boring the past few weeks. It has been really hectic trying to make trains, escape strikes, dealing with delayed planes....but it has been sooo much fun! I will email with many details when I get home. I fly home tomorrow morning! And get to sleep in airport number 2 tonight! But I will get to see many other HUGgers tonight and on my flight to Cincinnatti tomorrow. I am very excited! It is always so wonderful to see familiar faces. Well, in a little while we are heading to the British Museum where we are very excited to drop our bags off. Michelle and I, being the extremely pasty white girls we are....got completely roasted at the beach in Barcelona. Carrying the bags around for 7 hours yesterday didnt feel too great...but its okay. Anyway, it is going to be so weird leaving Europe, full of more mixed emotions. I am so excited to leave but at the same time I feel like I am leaving a place where I have made so many wonderful memories and relationships. I pray that I will keep all the relationships that I have made as I leave Europe and continue on in life. I am soooo excited to see my family though! I love you guys soo much! Well, I better get going! Off for my last great adventure....for now! Love you all! God bless!

Well....I just had my last meal at the Artemis. I'm so sad! I can't believe this semester has come and gone so quickly. I'm full of so many different emotions and I can't even start to describe them all: happy, sad, nervous, excited. I've never travelled the world without adults before. Wait...I'm an adult? I'm an adult! That's crazy. Maybe this is my official transformation. Anyway, so Josh, Michelle, and I head out at 6am...along with 16 other HUGgers. Then we'll make our way to Italy via ferry. Head to Rome, Florence, Piza, Venice, Innsbruck, Munich, Paris, Barcelona, London. Then on May 2nd I'll fly back to the US! So...please pray for the safety of our group, and that we will have Christian attitudes the whole time. The Lord bless you and keep you all. Love and God bless,

Katie
