Well, in about 48 hours from now we will be leaving our beloved Artemis to head to EGYPT! And I get to ride a camel in Egypt, where camels belong. Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself. I wanted to write in here about the wonderful experience our HUG group got to have yesterday. So some of you may remember last semester when we started raising money for a service project we planned to do this semester. Well, we didn't raise nearly as much as we wanted to, but we did raise a little over $3,000 to buy sleeping bags for the refugees in Athens. We ended up being able to buy somewhere between 200-250 sleeping bags. Yesterday we went to the Helping Hands center in Athens where they had the sleeping bags, and we were able to pass out sleeping bags to over 200 refugees who otherwise might not have had something warm to sleep in at night. It was pretty intimidating when we walked up the stairs because they were starting on both sides of the stairwell watching us, but from the smiles on their faces when we gave them a sleeping bag, I know they appreciated it. Most people left soon after, but a few people stuck around and played ping pong or chess, or just talked a little. I am so thankful that I was able to have this experience. Doing things like this really makes me want to do this kind of stuff a lot more. Not just serivce projects, but letting people know more about how much God loves them. Our humanities class is hoping to get to go back sometime this semester to work at the soup kitchen. I am so thankful for the Helping Hands organization in Athens. They do so much for the people, and I know God has blessed them because of it. Anyway, I just wanted to share that experience with ya'll.

I don't know if I will be able to write again before I leave for Egypt, but if don't I hope you all have a wonderful next few weeks. I return the night of the 16th. IF you couple please pray for the safety/travel of our group, and for the health I know we would all greatly appreciate it. Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderfully God-blessed day! Bye!
