Hey! Well, this is really short because things are crazy around here, but I just wanted to tell you that I will try very hard to update on the Northern Greece trip soon. We are leaving for Turkey tomorrow and I am so excited! I had my first crepe tonight and it was sooo good! White chocolate, cinnamon and nuts...mmmm..mmmm. Anyway, I better get going but I just wanted to let you all know that I still love you all and am thinking about you all. Will update as soon as I can. I get back from Turkey on Friday or Saturday. haha, I never know everything around here. Love and God bless!
Tomorrow evening we leave for Northern Greece and get back Wednesday night. I'm so excited, though the Myhans arent with us because they are in HUF for a few days But I guess we'll survive. But anyway, our first night train. I'm in the 6 couchette group that has 7 girls...we're gonna be real cozy. haha. But anyway, please pray for us and no one us gets hurt (people seem to keep twisting ankles, scraping and hurtings knees and such). Also, pray for everyone from Harding on Spring Break campaigns this week! And I'll leave you with this thought of what Michelle says my name means. Caitlin You have great self-confidence and a charming personality which attracts many friends and admirers. He really does. Sometimes we just gotta remember who is in charge. "When I call on Jesus, all things are possible. I can mount on wings like eagles and soar. And when I call on Jesus, mountains are gonna fall. Cuz He'll move heaven and earth to come rescue me when I call." That's what it will be like in heaven, why not start now?! God bless
Hey guys! Well, some of you may know that the past few days have been mixed with stress and tons of emotions. I'm not quite sure why, but it seems like the harder I try to get close to God, the more Satan pulls and makes me discouraged and upset and disappointed. It's like I suddenly expect more from people, and I shouldn't. I should continue to be encouraging no matter what. Today we had split chapel, so it was just us girls. We put everything aside, all worries and everything, and just closed our eyes and sang to God. We read scriptures and then we got in small groups and prayed for the person to our right. It was a very uplifting experience. Also, thank you too all my friends who have been so encouraging these past few days. When you're weak it's always nice to be able to lean on people who lean on God. Okay, so total change of subject but a fun fact/story for today! So...after Archaeology today Carol, Jen and I decided to go running. So we ran to the boardwalk and then down and back and then decided to walk a bit. So we're walking back to the Artemis and all of a sudden I see this head pop out of what I thought was a rock and I go "TURTLE!!" It was just over this little wall so Carol climbed over and got the turtle and we carried it back to the Artemis. So we got back to the Artemis and snuck it through into the kitchen b/c we aren't supposed to have animals here and I went back to talk to Vicky and I said "So Vicky do you like turtles?" She asked me a few questions and looked at me funny, but said yes and I ran to the kitchen. Then I came back and said "Vicky, do you want a pet?" And she gave me the greatest look ever b/c I knew she knew what was going on. So she went to the backyard with me where Carol was with the turtle and Vicky fell in love. So she is letting us keep the turtle in her garden which is down some stairs so it can't escape and get run over. We're so excited because she said we can go see Odysseus (the turtles new name) anytime! So thats my story for today.
Hey! Well, today was a very encouraging chapel. David spoke on how we are ambassadors of Christ, and he pointed out to us different times he has noticed when people watch us singing, and different comments they have made. One day on a boat while we were singing "Our God, He is alive" a lady from England leaned over and asked David if we were Catholics and he said "no, we're just Christians" and she asked why we were singing and he told her "because we love God". He said a tear came to her eye and she said "Wow, I never you could be 'just Christians'" That was pretty much it. But anyway, it was touching. And it's amazing how much you can touch someone's life with just a few words of a song, so ill leave you guys with a few words of encouagement for the day: There was a long long time ago, a God whose voice the prophets heard. He is the God that we should know, who speaks from his inspired word. There is a God, He is alive, in Him we live, and we survive. From dust our God, created man. He is our God, the great I am. *And one more: He is faithful, He is true, He is mighty, and He will rule. So bow before Him, and praise His name. Our Jesus Christ, forever reigns. Our God is awesome. He reigns from heaven. With wisdom, power and love, our God is an awesome God. God bless! |
